About Me

Ever since I have memory I have been travelling places.

“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain

My name is Nicky. I’m a 28-year old travel obsessed Dutchie. A few years ago, while I was studying law in Amsterdam, I got to go on exchange to Italy – one of my favourite places in the world – where I explored living abroad for the first time. It was impossible to resist the amazing Italian culture and cuisine, especially when living in the so-called ‘belly of Italy’; Bologna. I fell in love with it!

My next adventure brought me to the captial of Argentina, where I got fluent in Spanish, while exploring the South American culture. Adventure kept calling, so after that I took off to historical and colorful Berlin,  where I have lived for about 2 years. After half a year of lock-down on a beautiful Mexican beach and a period in the Netherlands, I now partly live in Spain while spending half of my time in the Netherlands.

I’m a foodie, culture and language lover. I speak Dutch, English and Spanish. I’m studying Italian (because I love it) and attempt to keep my German going (because its useful).

With this blog I aspire to push myself to develop my writing, photograpy                                                                                                       and language skills. But most of all I want to share my amazing, unique                                                                                                       experiences with you!

                                                                                                           – With love,  Nicky –
